A Note from the Principal

Dear Mullan Road School Families:

Welcome to Mullan Road School and the 2009-2010 school year! This year promises to be one of growth, learning, and excitement for all who attend our school. I look forward to a rewarding year as our dedicated staff works with parents, striving to effectively prepare our students for the dynamic ever-changing world of tomorrow.

Our staff is committed to developing a quality educational experience for all our students. This can best be accomplished by a team effort of parents, teachers, other school staff, and eager hard working learners. Together we can develop an educational environment that nurtures each of our children and allows them to move toward their potential. We urge you to become involved in the school and its activities so that together we can demonstrate to your child the importance and significance of a successful school experience.

This year our students will continue their learning with a strong academic curriculum enhanced by technology and other supportive programs. Reading, writing, math and other core subjects will be at the center of each students’ learning. Other programs like our successful Volunteer Literacy Program for students in grades 1-3.  Additionally, students benefit from enrichment events sponsored by our caring and involved Parent-Teacher Group, and from the guidance our Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is made up of staff, parents, and community whose task is to improve our students' learning.

In order for students to meet their potential the Mullan Road staff will continue to focus on building responsible behaviors which enhance academic learning. We value diversity and the acceptance of individual strengths and differences. Our goal is to make Mullan Road a safe and nurturing place for all its students.

This school calendar is intended to provide you with the information necessary to enhance your relationship with Mullan Road School. Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call 354-3800 or stop by the school at any time.

Sincerely,

Mr. Paul Stone
