Dear Moran Prairie Families,
We're ready to kick off another great school year at Moran Prairie, continuing our tradition of excellence. ! As always, we've put together a fabulous teaching and support staff to help your child(ren) thrive here at school.
Once again, in order to help facilitate our own professional development and bring your child(ren) the best instruction possible, we will continue to have teacher Collaborative Time Thursdays from 8:00-9:00. Teachers arrive a half hour early and students arrive a half hour late every Thursday. Though we as a district certainly recognize that this can be difficult for families, the time has been invaluable for us over the last several years. So again, like the past two years, every Thursday we will start a half hour late. First bell is at 9:20, classes begin at 9:30.
On this Website, you'll find important information about our values and beliefs as well as the 'do's and don'ts' and 'how to's' for Moran Prairie students and families. Please take a few minutes to browse through it now, and use this the Website, along with the parent calendar/handbook throughout the year when you have a question about when, how, or why something is happening at Moran Prairie.
You'll find information about the Pillars of Character, which are the basis for our expectations of our children. The best way for our students to learn to 'live by' these pillars is to have them modeled for them. I hope that when adults are here at school, we will all be modeling these pillars, whether it is by speaking respectfully to and about other people, treating others with kindness, or being responsible to follow rules such as driving the right direction (and not talking on cell phones!) in the parking lot, or using crosswalks at all times, even when we don't think someone is watching (that's what we call "trustworthiness" to the kids). Children are always watching us!
