Character Counts!   (back to home)
We've started the 2008-09 school off with an immediate emphasis on helping children deal with bullying behavior. Character Counts, a national program that teaches decision making based on six foundational characteristics, is also a tool used at school.  I am so impressed with the students' recollection of the six pillars. We're urging students to "show what they know" this year, and put their knowledge of the six pillars into action.
I'm working in classrooms throughout the year to bring the meaning and messages of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Fairness and Citizenship to alll students. Ask your child what he or she has been learning, and I'll add more details here as time allows.
