  Dear Parent (s):
I would like to welcome your child to a new year in Fitness and Health. Your child's meets two days a week.
(K-one day). Check the schedule for specific days. Please take a few minutes to read the important contents of this entire letter.

Our program has taken a new approach with a revised curriculum that will expand beyond the traditional sports, games, and activities.Emphasis on one's personal level of fitness and ways to improve is now a major focus.Unfortunately, the headlines are true! The percentage of overweight youth
has more than doubled in the past 30 years due to interest in sedentary activities such as television, computers, video games, and movies, which reduce the need to be physically active.

It is my goal to engage students in developmentally appropriate activities that will increase physical competence,self-concept,and the joy of being physically active regardless of their abilities and teach students how and why it is important to be active throughout their lifetime.

Appropriate wearing apparel will enable your child to participate more effectively in all activities. hard soled, shoes, sandals, flip flops, hiking/snow boots are not safe. Therefore, tennis shoes are strongly recommend. I need to be informed immediately of any health conditions that will not allow your child to participate. If your child is not feeling well, send a note, e-mail,or a phone call.

Feel free to contact me if there are questions or concerns.

I am looking forward to an enjoyable and productive school year.

Sincerely,
Mrs, Bush
